This 12-day safari has been designed to provide nature lovers and photographers with a superlative wildlife experience of Madagascar - perfect for first time visitors! On this tour we visit the best known National Parks on the island and encounter an exceptional diversity of fauna and flora - from the "Indri indri" (Madagascar’s largest lemur) to endemic reptiles, fascinating chameleons, colourful frogs and unusual insects, as well as some of Madagascar’s most spectacular birdlife. We also explore the Isalo National Park, with its beautiful sandstone formations, and we have incorporated some interesting cultural experiences along the way. The accommodation we have selected is the most upmarket possible in each area. If you have sufficient time, we suggest adding trip extensions to Morondava (for Baobab Alley), the Tsingy and Berenty Reserve (for Dancing Sifakas), or consider adding our Island-hopping extension before or after this tour.

Island-hopping in Madagascar

5 Days

The focus of this trip (usually done as an extension to our “Best of Madagascar Wildlife Safari”) is to explore the various islands off the northwest coast of Madagascar - including Nosy Be, Nosy Tanikely, Nosy Komba and Nosy Iranja (optional). We spend two nights on Nosy Be, the largest and most visited of the islands, and two nights on Nosy Komba, a smaller volcanic island, known for its population of Black Lemurs. Between the various islands we travel by motorboat. The trip also includes the Nosy Tanikely Marine National Park, with its exceptional marine life.
